What We Do

The Professional Liability Agents Network (PLAN) is a select group of insurance agencies specializing in risk management and loss prevention programs for architects, engineers and environmental consultants.

History

PLAN was formed in 1984 when it was determined that the creation of a national network of insurance brokers, specializing in Professional Liability Insurance and Loss Prevention services for Design Professionals, would enable individual members to enhance their sales and service abilities and, collectively, to render services throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada. 

Currently 56 brokers with offices throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada provide insurance for more than 17,000 firms.

PLAN is a not-for-profit organization that operates through a Board of Directors. It holds one or more education sessions a year; publishes its own client deliverables and also produces loss prevention newsletters for Architects and Engineers entitled A/E Risk Review and for Environmental Consultants entitled E/C Risk Review.

Trade Association Sponsorships

PLAN members collectively contribute over $200,000 to associations.

PLAN is a registered AIA/CES Provider. Our members have access to seminars that can provide you continuing education units.

Any time you need specific advice, information or assistance, we are prepared to help. You won’t have to spend time explaining the details of your profession. We understand your business and keep ourselves current through active involvement in your professional societies and associations, reading the publications by and about your industry, and sharing information and expertise within the PLAN network. We also support you at the legislative level by pursuing positive changes in the laws that impact your profession.
